Can a teacher reset a student password?

Created by Samantha Brumagin, Modified on Fri, 28 Jun at 7:27 PM by Samantha Brumagin

In order to maintain account privacy in accordance with COPPA, teachers do not have the necessary permissions to reset student passwords.

Teachers do, however, have the ability to generate password reset emails to students:

Additionally, students may reset their own passwords by following the password reset prompts from the login screen: https://garbanzo.io/signin.

The reset password email will come from [email protected]. The school's IT department may need to whitelist this email address, and we recommend having it whitelisted proactively to expedite password resets.

If the student struggles to reset their password, our support team would be happy to assist you. Fill out a support ticket.

In the support ticket, include the following information:

  1. student username and/or email address
  2. confirm that the student has already attempted to reset their password and was unsuccessful
